A contemporary perspective
Strength does not require force. Match the scale of your action to the situation.
This is Fatefold’s original reflective interpretation, not a word-for-word translation or a classical prediction about a modern question.

Read the structure
The lower trigram is Qian · Heaven; the upper is Zhen · Thunder. The six lines describe positions and stages within one situation, rather than six independent answers. Strength does not require force. Match the scale of your action to the situation.
Tuan commentary · reading the judgment
大壯,大者壯也,剛以動,故壯。大壯利貞,大者正也。正大而天地之情可見矣。
The Tuan discusses the judgment through polarity, position and timing. Its conditions belong with the judgment; an isolated favorable or unfavorable word does not settle a whole situation.
Great Image · from pattern to conduct
雷在天上,大壯,君子以非禮弗履。
The Great Image turns Great Power into a model for conduct. Alongside divinatory language, this layer asks how to act. Consider whether your approach to great power fits the actual conditions.
