A contemporary perspective

Release rigid attachments that divide people. Reconnect through a shared purpose.

This is Fatefold’s original reflective interpretation, not a word-for-word translation or a classical prediction about a modern question.

Read the structure

The lower trigram is Kan · Water; the upper is Xun · Wind. The six lines describe positions and stages within one situation, rather than six independent answers. Release rigid attachments that divide people. Reconnect through a shared purpose.

Tuan commentary · reading the judgment

渙亨,剛來而不窮,柔得位乎外而上同。王假有廟,王乃在中也。利涉大川,乘木有功也。

The Tuan discusses the judgment through polarity, position and timing. Its conditions belong with the judgment; an isolated favorable or unfavorable word does not settle a whole situation.

Great Image · from pattern to conduct

風行水上,渙,先王以享于帝,立廟。

The Great Image turns Dispersion into a model for conduct. Alongside divinatory language, this layer asks how to act. Consider whether your approach to dispersion fits the actual conditions.
